For most larger plots, the practical answer is a map rather than a verdict. Mark the broad, level sections in one colour and the intricate sections in another. The first colour points towards a wheeled trimmer. The second points towards a handheld cordless machine. The Stihl FSA 57 moves into more useful general-purpose territory. It weighs 3.5kg with the AK10 battery attached and uses a 280mm cutting circle. With the AK10, working time is around 20 to 25 minutes; moving to the AK30 takes stated working time to 60 minutes.
